That simple realization grew into a shared idea: why work as isolated individuals when we already function like a strong, reliable team?
We joined forces, and STARK Group was born. Over time, the company evolved far beyond its early freelance roots. Today, we are a focused software development team building custom software solutions, integrating AI and machine learning. We also consult on IT infrastructure, security, process optimization, and digital transformation.
What never changed was how we wanted to work: with trust, curiosity, and room to grow. That mindset still shapes everything we do today.
Our Workplace Flexible, Human, and Built on Real Collaboration
That way of working naturally influenced how we organize ourselves. Our official headquarters are in Ehningen, while our daily work takes place in Böblingen at Röhrer Weg 8, inside the AI Express building. The space reflects how we work: modern, flexible, and open to different ways of collaborating.
Remote work is a natural part of our setup. After all, it is 2025. At the same time, personal connection still matters. Real collaboration grows when people meet, talk, brainstorm, laugh, and build trust beyond screens. Some team members visit the office only a few times a year, while others stop by simply because they enjoy the environment. That balance keeps our culture alive.
Even the small mix ups, like being confused with other STARK Groups across Europe, feel like part of the same openness. They lead to funny stories, unexpected invitations, and occasionally good wine, but no formal connections.
How We Build Software From the Root of the Problem to the Final Solution
The same mindset carries directly into our project work. We do not believe in standard projects. Every collaboration begins with something concrete: a loss of time, money, quality, or efficiency within a company's processes.
Clients often arrive with an initial idea shaped by tools they have used before. Our role is to slow things down first, to understand the real problem, challenge assumptions, and design a custom solution from the ground up. A prototype may take a week or several months, but software should never stop evolving after its first release. It needs to grow with the organization, its users, and the market. A static product quickly loses its value.
That is why we move fast when things are clear and take our time when complexity demands it. Both approaches are intentional.

To support this way of working, structure matters, but only where it helps. We work with agile methodologies and provide long term maintenance, security updates, and infrastructure consulting throughout a project's lifecycle.
We are technology agnostic by design. Whether a solution requires modern cloud services, a complex backend, or mobile application development, we choose what best serves the problem. Legacy systems can be integrated when APIs are available, but in many cases it is safer and more cost effective to rebuild outdated software using a modern tech stack. Scalability is supported through our cloud partners, including the Baden Württemberg cloud.
AI and Machine Learning Practical Tools Not Promises
This pragmatic approach also shapes how we work with emerging technologies. We use AI and machine learning where they genuinely improve outcomes, not for marketing appeal. The idea that AI will replace traditional software development is unrealistic.
AI is powerful, but not perfectly reproducible. Machine learning is statistical, not precise. Most companies also lack the volume of clean data required for heavy predictive models. For us, AI is a bridge technology, a smart assistant that supports employees, highlights patterns, and accelerates workflows. Whenever accuracy, reliability, or deterministic behavior is required, classic software engineering remains essential.

Before choosing any method, whether an AI model, software library, PDF generator, or cloud provider, we validate it thoroughly. Critical components receive deep analysis, while smaller parts are optimized over time. This approach ensures the security, stability, and reliability our clients depend on.
